AgentPay is the x402 payment infrastructure layer for autonomous AI agents, IoT devices, and machine-to-machine commerce. We built AgentPay because AI agents needed a way to pay each other without a human in the loop — and no existing payment stack was built for that.
AgentPay implements the x402 protocol — an open HTTP-native payment standard that enables any AI agent, IoT device, or autonomous system to pay for API calls using USDC in a single HTTP request. No wallets to connect. No approval flows. No human intermediary.
AgentPay is an official x402 multi-chain facilitator, verifying and settling payments on Base L2, Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Polygon using EIP-712 signed grants and EIP-3009 atomic USDC transfers.
AgentPay is the payment layer for a broader ecosystem:
AgentWorld is a live AI agent economy simulation where 97 autonomous NPC agents earn real USDC wages across 10 global cities — all powered by AgentPay's payment rails. Crypto Currency Network is our affiliated news publication covering the agent economy and x402 ecosystem.
Shawn Lippert is a crypto veteran and the founder of AgentPay and AgentWorld. Operating out of Grand Canyon, AZ, Shawn built AgentPay to solve a real problem: AI agents are becoming autonomous economic actors, but the payment infrastructure didn't exist to support them. AgentPay is that infrastructure.
AgentPay is built on the open x402 standard. Our reference implementation is open source on GitHub and includes EIP-712 grant signing, conformance test vectors, and a Python/Node.js quickstart.
